Name: Youth and Sustainable Development Program

Goals and objectives:

  • To contribute to develop sustainable people who care and take positive actions toward community and environments;
  • To raise awareness of sustainable development themes in Vietnam, and promote sharing of knowlege, skills and actions for the benefit of the physical and human environment
  • To mentor and support the development of civil groups, youths and volunteers

ESD programs/ projects/activities



 1. Training courses on sustainable development, environmental education for youths, volunteers:


  • Challenge young people with issues of sustainable development, who they are, what they think and what they could do to promote sustainability
  • Equip youths and volunteers with team-builidng, system-thinking skills and participatory methods
  • Provide basics of project development and management

2. Mentoring the development of volunteer groups, for better program development, networking and leaderships

3. Materials development to target youth on sustainability issues: Journey Diary for Cycle for Environment across Vietnam, and a website under design for promoting sustainable lifestyles

Describe educational and learning methods/tools applied:

  • Participatory training workshops with educational games
  • Training hand-outs and journal diary for volunteers
  • Web-based interactions
  • Coaching and Mentoring

Stakeholders: Da Nang Green Ocean groups; Green Action Viet Nam, Cycle for Environment, Go green club, Young Volunteer Network, Green Generation Network of volunteers…
