General information of the project and program which have ESD related activities: Name: Water supply, medical checkup and building the board project at fisher village and the island.   

Goals and objectives: to provide informal education for disadvantaged street children. We combine these activities with projects to help disadvantaged people at Fisher Village who are very poor and live in slum-boats on the Red river. We do this by giving them food, medicine, water filters (for clean drinking water), toothpaste, second-hand warm clothes and free showers in winter, etc.

ESD programs/ projects/activities Name: The Youth house

Objectives: Creating the non official school which is call “Youth House” where we can:

  • Ensure basic rights for children, especially for poor children
  • Give the children opportunity to study social, cultural, and historical knowledge in addition to knowledge from official schools.
  • Give the children a good environment to study and play.
  • Provide them the opportunity to be involved in some musical performances, learning centers and orientation for their future careers.
  • Strengthen and consolidate social knowledge.
  • Discover and encourage their natural abilities.

Location: Fisher village and the island are located under Long Bien bridge on the red river.

Target groups: Local people, Youths/volunteers
Outputs and final outcomes of the ESD activities.
  • 100% family houses at the island had been repaired.
  • 100% families uses water filter.
  • 13 children study in the Youth House.
  • 3 Children go to the state school.
  • 1 girl study at Koto school.
